Oyunlar için fon bulmak gerçekten zorlu bir süreç. Bu konuda başvurulabilecek en önemli sistem hep Kickstarter oldu. Ancak Kickstarter, oyun projeleri için uygun bir platform değil. Onlarca saksı, masa, mug, tshirt’ün arasında kaybolan oyunların, oyuncularla buluşması ve fon toplaması oldukça zor. Kickstarter’ın, oyun projeleri için zorluklarını gören, Double Fine‘ın eski geliştiricilerinden Justin Bailey‘nin (Fig için Double Fine’dan ayrılmış) kurucularından olduğu,  oyun geliştiricilere yönelik yeni fonlama servisi duyuruldu. Adı Fig olan bu yeni servis ödül tabanlı fonlama imkanı sunacak.Fig ismi, Fas stiline sahip(nasıl birşeyse o!) bar’ı ve havuzu bulunan, E3’e katılan oyun endüstrisi çalışanları için sosyalleşme mekanı olan,  Hotel Figueroa‘dan esinlenilmiş.Fig‘in danışman kurulunda Feargus Urquhart, Brian Fargo ve Double Fine‘ın yöneticisi  Tim Schafer bulunuyor. Fig‘in danışman kadrosunda bulunan Brian Fargo,  içinde Wastland 2’ninde olduğu  üç başarılı Kickstarter kampanyasını yönetmiş bir isim. Tim Schafer  – Double Fine ise Broken Age için başlattıkları 400,000$’lık Kickstarter kampanyasından 3,336,371$ (milyon milyon!) kazanmayı başarmışlardı.Fig için Türkiye’den kampanyaya katılmak pek mümkün görünmüyor.
